Natalie is the founder of Natalie Plumstead Legal Consulting a firm dedicated to mental health law, advocacy and legislative drafting.

Natalie is an experienced legal adviser and solicitor advocate for mental health law matters. She has significant experience as a legislative drafter and instructor on law reform proposals. She is a member of the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel and has experience as a legislative drafter in Victoria and internationally.

Natalie frequently provides legal advice on the provision of mental health services and the making of orders that may apply to consumers.

She has written on the rights-based principles that apply to the provision of mental health services in Victoria. She is applying her expertise in mental health law by exploring future law reform proposals as a committee member of the Disability Law Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria.

Natalie’s article exploring the role of the legislative drafter and instructor is published in the December 2024 edition of The Loophole Journal of the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel.
